Melting pure platinum

In this video you can follow the melting and pouring of pure platinum using a Topcast TMF Melting Furnace.

The process starts with the charge of the platinum into the crucible and the insertion of a mold under the crucible.

Then the platinum is heated and melt into the crucible by induction. Then the crucible is rotated by means of an handwhell: the molten platinum is poured into the mold.
